Somebody get the marshmallows!

Grease fire at crematorium.

Favorite quote from the article:
“The crematorium is back in business and the funeral director said they’ll notify the family to assure them their loved one wasn’t harmed.”

Ah, Dragonlance…

I loved the first two trilogies back in, oh, junior high, but the volume that has brought the most longterm enjoyment was the companion book “Leaves of the Inn of Last Home”, which has, among the poetry, stories, songs and music, many tasty recipes.

A few times a year I spot the book on the shelf of cookbooks, usually when it’s the first cold snap of autumn, and think “gully dwarf stew would be really tasty right now.” This past weekend it was “Flamestrike Soup”. Yummm…

Otiks spiced fried potatoes, anyone?

From the mouths of toddlers…

I walked up to the corner drugstore this weekend with the small daughter.  About halfway there she said “I wish I could be a bird and sit up in a tree. And fly in the sky.” we discussed that a little bit, but I was pretty stunned. That was a mighty articulate concept she shared right there. Especially since she’s not much over 2 1/2.

Metal Gear Toddler.

The small daughter seems to like Metal Gear Solid 3 a whole lot. Specifically, the snake eater aspect of the game. Can we eat the frog? Yes. Can we look for more frogs to eat. Yes. I don’t like the crab. Well, let’s eat it, then. Can we eat more crabs? We’re not hungry yet, but soon. Oooh, fish! Can we eat the fish?

Elf needs food, badly.
